On Saturday morning, June 9, a press conference was held at the Biennale's auditorium in the Arsenale. The show's true kickoff, however, took place outside the auditorium.

A delighted crowd gathered around the stilt-mounted actor-dancers of Fidget Feet. The performers were garbed in light, flowing costumes and were accompanied by an equally elegant and ethereal white horse. Once the press conference ended, the gentle steed and its lofty attendants made their way down the tourist-jammed quay and into the alley leading to the exhibition, attracting people into the festive aura and turning them all suddenly into delighted children.
